Mama Dip’s Kitchen is a full-service traditional southern restaurant serving southern country cooking since 1976. Three generations have operated the restaurant since Mildred Council passing in 2018. Mama Dip taught her family all aspects of her southern restaurant business while sharing her wisdom about life and the importance of hard work and commitment. Her children were cross-trained in different jobs: spending time as a dishwasher, bakers, cooks, waiters, short-order cooks, bussers, and bookkeepers, giving them the skills needed to manage restaurant operations and skills required to succeed. Those times spent in the kitchen with mama gave them loving, caring memories and the strength they needed to continue her legacy. They are committed to working hard to provide traditional country cooking and giving back to their community, providing employment to individuals needing a second or third chance, and taking time to help the less fortunate.
Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are working at Mama Dips Kitchen today, along with a dedicated staff. Her family and their staff are committed to providing the same delicious traditional southern cooking that she created when she started her business in 1976.
